A message to all parents... If you are the parent of a junior high student, I want to take a minute to thank you for allowing TREK Jr. High Ministry to play a small role in the life of your child. Our team has enjoyed partnering with you. We will be praying for you and your children as they head into life. As many of you already know, the Jr. High ministry here at Cottonwood is incredible! The transition to Jr. High is a big one and students often feel intimidated, however, my experience has taught me that the key to a smooth transition into our Jr. high school ministry relies heavily on two factors: First: Jump right in! TREK has a year full of great stuff planned. Please encourage your student to jump right in from the get go…this will greatly help their transition. Also, our church is VERY regional. (covers 6 counties) No matter what community you live in you are likely to find someone your student knows. Second: Join a C.O.R.E. Group. This is our small group program that consists of 1-4 people and allows relation ministry and true discipleship take place. C.O.R.E. Groups can start at any time during the year (school or not) and be held at any point during the day. Please be sure to get your son or daughter plugged into one right away. These small groups are the key to getting connected. Again, thanks for allowing TREK Ministries to minister to your child. We can't wait to see what the coming years have in store for them! God Bless, Chance Yankie and the TREK team |
