The Story of Enoch! Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken up – He was pleasing to God! Genesis 5:22 Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters. 23 So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. 24 Enoch walked with God ; and he was not, for God took him. 1. Enoch Believed and Pleased God! Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. • Come to God, Seek God, Believe That He Rewards! Jeremiah 29:11 'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. 12'Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13'You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 14'I will be found by you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.' 2. Enoch Walked With God! Faith Produces A Faithful Walk! To Walk With God Means: • You Walk in Agreement With Him! You Are Reconciled! Amos 3:3 Do two men walk together unless they have made an appointment? • You Pursue Intimacy With God! Revelation 2:1-5 – Where We Often Shrink Back! • God's Presence Goes With You! Matthew 28: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Exodus 33:12-16 – My Presence Will Go With You! • You Have His Protection! Proverbs 2:7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, 8 Guarding the paths of justice, And He preserves the way of His godly ones. The Christian's walk is always a reference to the faithful living of the Christian! Isaiah 30:21 Your ears will hear a word behind you, " This is the way, walk in it," whenever you turn to the right or to the left. Romans 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 2 Corinthians 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight — Galatians 5:16 But I say,walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we wouldwalk in them. The Walk! – Ephesians 4:1-2; 17-5:5 3. Enoch Heard God! Jude 14-18 4. Enoch Received What All Healthy Men Desire – Not to Die! Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained a witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.
