Expectations For Christmas

1. You Will be an Eyewitness and Servant of Jesus Christ! (V. 2)

John 1:1-3;14 – The Word of God is the Person, Jesus Christ!

2. Your Character and Prayers Will be Seen and Heard By God!

Luke 1:5-17 - Zecharias and Elizabeth -

  • Their Character -Righteous, Blameless Priests of God!
  • Their Prayer – To Have a Son!

Galatians 6:9-10 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. 10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

Psalm 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry. 16 The face of the LORD is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth. 17 The righteous cry, and the LORD hears And delivers them out of all their troubles. 18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

3. God Will Fulfill His Purposes for Your Life! (9-17)

  • To Bring Joy and Gladness to the Hearts of People!
  • Dependent On Nothing But God's Spirit!
  • Ministry of Turning People to the Lord!
  • To Make People Ready for the Lord!

4. God Will Fulfill His Promises In Your Life!

The Word To Zacharias – “You Will Have a Child In Your Sterility and Old Age!

  • The Doubt of Zacharias! “How Will I?”

The Word to Mary! – You will Have a Child in Your Virginity!

  • The Faith of Mary! “How Will You?” (26-38)

What God Promises He Delivers!

Habakkuk 2:3 "For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay.

1 Kings 8:56 "Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised; not one word has failed of all His good promise, which He promised through Moses His servant.

Isaiah 55:10 "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; 11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

5. God Will Spur You On With Confirmations of His Promises! (39-45)

Hebrews 6:9-15 - Trust and Obey!
