Cottonwood 's Commitment to the Harvest! Matthew 9:35-38
Luke 5:30 The Pharisees and their scribes began grumbling at His disciples, saying, "Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?" 31 And Jesus answered and said to them, "It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick. 32 "I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance." 1 Timothy 1:15 It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. 16 Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Matthew 18:11 "For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. Matthew 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Compassion will Compel to You to the Unfamiliar! John 4:28 and 29 "Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is it?" 30 They went out of the city, and were coming to Him. 39-41! God's Compassion Will Compel You to God to the Familiar! Compassion to The Familiar - Luke 10:1-33 1. The Workers! • God's Workers Are His Disciples! Luke 9:57-62 Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. 25 "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? • God's Workers Are Sent to Herald Jesus and His Message! Seventy, Sent By Twos Ecclesiastes 4:9 Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. 10 For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. 11 Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart. 2. The Worker's Harvest! 3. The Worker's Instructions! • Obedient to Specific Instructions! Be Courageous! Matthew 10:16-38 4. The Worker's Message! Acts 20:17-29 – The Message! “Repentance From Sin and Faith towards Jesus!” 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 – The Ministry of Reconciliation! 5. The Results! Success! Acts 1:8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem , and in all Judea and Samaria , and even to the remotest part of the earth." Luke 10:2 And He was saying to them, " The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. • Am I Compassionate? Isaiah 6:8-9 Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I. Send me!" • Will I go to the unfamiliar or the familiar? |
