Biblical Models of Giving:
God's Heart for Children!

Mike Fritscher w/ Scott Hooper

Mark 9:36 Taking a child, He set him before them, and taking him in His arms, He said to them, 37 " Whoever receives one child like this in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me does not receive Me, but Him who sent Me."

Matthew 19:13 Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." 15 After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.

Giving to Any Need is A Ministry of Service!

A Biblical Model in Giving What We Have! 2 Corinthians 9:6-15

    • 1. Give Bountifully! (Time, Talent and Money)

Acts 4:34 For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales 35 and lay them at the apostles' feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need.

Deuteronomy 15:10 "You shall generously give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings. 11 " For the poor will never cease to be in the land; therefore I command you, saying, 'You shall freely open your hand to your brother, to your needy and poor in your land.'

2 Corinthians 8:1-8 The Poor of Macedonia!

  • Even In Your Affliction and Deep Poverty!
  • According to and Beyond Your Ability!
  • In Order to Participate in the support of the Saints!
  • After You have 1 st given yourself to the Lord!
    • 2. Give Purposefully! Malachi 3
      • Out of Faith and Obedience!
      • To Meet the Need
      • To Demonstrate Love
      • To Glorify God!
    • 3. Give Cheerfully! With Hilarity!
    • 4. Give With Expectation of Return! Verse 10

Luke 6:37" Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned. 38 "Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure — pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return."

  • When You Honor the Lord Through a Life of Giving, He Will Honor You!

Proverbs 3:9 Honor the Lord from your wealth And from the first of all your produce; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty

And your vats will overflow with new wine.

Proverbs 19:17 One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord, And He will repay him for his good deed.
