Our Common Call!

Luke 5:1-11

I. As to the Essential of Obedience – When God asks You to do Something – Just Do It!

II. As to Humility – Always Be Ready to Confess Your Weakness, Your Sinfulness, Your Struggle! And make sure you are not thinking too highly of Yourself!

What does this posture of Humility do for the Kingdom?

1. It Roots Out Entitlement

2. It Brings Grace! Peter knew this! He understood it and wrote of it in His first epistle!

1 Peter 5:5 and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE. 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

3. It Brings Forgiveness!

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

4. It Brings Justification! Luke 18:9-14

5. It Brings a Brand New Life!As to this Abandonment! Always Be willing to Abandon anything and everything God asks you to abandon!
