So...What's this all about?
God's Purpose God's Purpose Revealed: God created Man for His glory . This simply means that we have been created to reflect the character of God. God's character is love and Jesus' command is to love the Lord Your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself! The reflection of God's character is the foundation of a joyful and satisfying life which is found in a deep, growing relationship with Him. God's Purpose Rejected: We Have Sinned and Fallen Short of God's Glory! Because the first man and woman disobeyed God, the glory of God departed and sin entered the world. Because of our sin and disobedience, we fall short of God's glory. Our relationship with God is broken and we have no hope in this world or the next for the joyful and satisfying life God purposed for us to live. God's Purpose Fulfilled: Christ in You the Hope of Glory! God sent His son Jesus Christ two thousand years ago to live and then to die for our sins on the cross. His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead defeated Satan and took away our sin, making a way for man to enter into a glorifying relationship with God as His child. His perfect life became the perfect sacrifice for His people to be transformed to reflect His glory by being conformed into the image of Christ. His death paid the penalty for our sin and paved the way for us to have eternal life with Him. Our Response: Give your life to Christ by believing and asking Him to be your Lord and Savior by prayer! God's Purpose is fulfilled in our lives as we believe that what Jesus did two thousand years ago at the cross He did for each of us today. This belief is accompanied by a turning from our rebellion and lifestyle of sin and embracing the good news of God restoring His character in our lives and conforming us into His image. This new life is demonstrated as we confess our sin, believe in our hearts His word and live lives empowered by His Spirit. Pray to give your life to God: God knows your heart and is not concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer: "Lord Jesus, I need You. Please forgive me of my sin. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins so that I may have life with you. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Please restore your glory to me. Make me the kind of person you want me to be (Christ-like) and fill my life with your purposes (Glorifying You)." Please
